Caroline stormed in front of a shocked Stefan. Clearly, she was upset and tired.

”Please, save me from all this love triangle drama. I can’t stand it anymore.”

He frowned lightly. “Are you sure? I don’t want to add even more drama.” Stefan smiled a little smile, when he saw Caroline raising an eyebrow.

”Please. I need a distraction.”

Stefan took pity of his friend as he interwove their fingers and brought her on the dance floor. Caroline let out a breathe, trying to relax, at least for a while.

They danced on some fast songs, just laughing and having fun. It was long time. Stefan didn’t remember the last time he felt so carefree, and neither did Caroline. Probably it was since the last time they spent some quality time together.

A romantic melody was filling the room, and Stefan took her in his embrace. Caroline looked up at him. “I’ve missed you.” She said with a soft voice. He smiled in return. “I’ve missed you, too, Care.”

They swayed together, just holding on each other, Caroline gazed was lingering on the two hybrids arguing in a corner. She sighed.

”It will be all right.” Stefan whispered in her ear. “It’s gonna be alright.”

”How could you know that?”

”Because now I’m here for you.“ 

Caroline smiled again, as she rested her head on his shoulder. Yeah. Her best friend was back. And she wasn’t scared of the future anymore.
