To me it’s just amazing how they can speak with their eyes and you can actually understand without them having to utter a single word. This is Caroline’s ‘training day’ with Stefan and she kinda… failed, let’s say. She was close to killing Matt. But, AS ALWAYS, Stefan was there to prevent her from doing further damage and then he saved her from the werewolf.
Right here is actually before all that went through and Caroline is struggling with what she can do about her situation with Matt. Stefan just knows how she’s feeling because he was also in the same situation with Elena many times (ugh) and because he just really gets her no matter what.
His face says “I understand. Go on, talk to him. You need this.” And his face is so careful and soft with her that she can’t help but look the same way back at him. And then he says a line that can mean much more than what it was implied in that scene: “I’ll wait.”
I’ll wait.
Because he always ends up waiting for her. He’s always there but he also knows how to give her the space she needs. But he’s always at her arms length and she just needs to reach it. So he’ll just wait. He knows she needs to do this on her own. But he’s right behind her and will always be.
And to me her face here is almost realizing that. That “wow, he really has my back. He truly cares for me.”
And this scene just gives me feels and it’s one of the most underrated Steroline moments ever and I don’t understand people who don’t ship them.
Anyway… WE’LL WAIT! As long as it takes… :)
